Stabile reportedly had days of severe headaches until he eventually couldn't move or speak properly.

The individual who died has been identified as 29 year-old Fabrizio Stabile of Ventnor.

Known as "Fab", Stabile was born in Bloomsberg, Pennsylvania, and loved spending time outdoors, according to his obituary in the Press of Atlantic City.

Friend and family members have created a new nonprofit to raise awareness of the amoeba, called "The Fabrizio Stabile Foundation for Naegleria Fowleri Awareness". Infections such as the one Stabile had, though rare, happen when the water enters the body through the nose.

The disease, according to the CDC, is nearly always fatal, with only four people out of 143 cases have survived the infection.

Kavanaugh has also denied her accusations, as well as those of two other women, while accusing Democrats of a political "hit". Choosing between Kavanaugh and Ford, 48 percent of American voters most believed Ford as 41 percent most believed Kavanaugh.

The water park's owner has said he will comply with further requests relating to the investigation.

Craine said BSR Cable Park's Surf Resort voluntarily closed as health officials investigate.

The "heat-loving" amoeba is most commonly found in soil and warm fresh water, including lakes rivers and hot springs. After the start of symptoms, the disease progresses rapidly.

According to the CDC, Naegleria fowleri infections are rare, with just 34 reported between 2008 and 2017. The organizations statistics indicate that since 1962 there have been 143 confirmed cases, of which only four people survived.

Doctors are not sure how or why a very few people are susceptible, but it's clear that having water forced up into the sinuses, perhaps by dunking or diving, is an important factor. "The Naegleria fowleri ameba then travels up the nose to the brain where it destroys the brain tissue", according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

She said the CDC would work with the local health department on recommendations for how the park can reduce potential exposures, the Tribune reported.
