  • Google Brings Privacy Controls a Little Closer to Search

Users can delete recent search history within the Google search feature on desktop or mobile, without having to dig through settings. Google says in a blog post it will also provide speedy access to other privacy-related settings as you search, like letting you access ad privacy settings.

Google reveals underneath the option that selecting delete will erase activity data including search terms and the links that users activated on search results pages. Google reportedly declined to alert users about the flaw to avoid regulatory scrutiny, instead opting to quietly patch it in March. Now, you can find these review controls directly within Google Search. There's also quick access to Activity Controls, where a user can adjust what information Google saves to their account and uses across Google services. You'll be able to either choose to delete their data from the last hour or all of your search data.

Here's where you alter your privacy controls in search.
