Scroll through the Twitter newsfeed, and you'll see the fantasy football world practically begging Le'Veon Bell to end his holdout and report.

If he doesn't sign by that date, by rule, Bell can't play for the remainder of the season, and the Steelers would have the right to franchise-tag him again next year as if they were tagging him for the second time.

"What do you do?"

"What do you do?" asked guard and player rep Ramon Foster, per the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

"I just felt confident that he was gonna come", center Maurkice Pouncey said Wednesday.

However, the Steelers have zero plans to rescind their offer to Bell. The team appeared hopeful he would report this week - as he did past year to end his holdout when Week 1 began - but with Sunday's opener against the Browns looming, his support appears to be losing steam. But at least let us know [you weren't coming]. Either way, if you have him on your roster, you need to play him against the Cleveland Browns this week.

"I'd like to say that the linemen are far more important than any skill position, including myself, on this team so this offense is more than just one back", Roethlisberger said.

Pittsburgh's confidence in Conner is not just lip service for the "next man up".

Now, the Steelers are about to start a season without Bell, a player whose teammates are quick to call one of the best in the business and even quicker to call out for being a no-show.

It appears that numerous Steelers' players expected to see Bell there, and several national media outlets reported the plan was for Bell to show up at some point this week - many indicating that he'd arrive prior to a Wednesday morning team meeting. But when he still didn't show up, their patience ran out.

"He f-- us", one veteran player summed it up for ESPN. Yes, this is the second straight franchise tag to which Bell has been shackled, and you can't blame a player for fighting for every last penny he thinks he's worth.

Bell has not signed his $14.5 million franchise tender and can not play until he does so.

Since then, Bell has continued to hold out from joining any team training camp sessions or preseason games.

Conner promises to be a better backup to Bell than the Steelers had for Shazier, especially when Tyler Matakevich's shoulder injury forced them to sign Sean Spence off the street. It sucks that he's not here. we'll move on as a team.
