On Thursday, August 9, Rockstar Games released the first in-game footage of Red Dead Redemption 2 after the studio has only released cinematic trailers and still images up to this point.

What do you think about the new Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer?

This Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer immediately throws us into the action, quite literally starting off with a bang.

The video will be available on YouTube and Rockstar Games' official website.

Sony celebrates 500 million PlayStations sold with a sweet PS4 Pro
That's over half a billion systems sold since the first PlayStation home entertainment system was released all those years ago. The units will be serialized with a copper plaque on it, though it's hard to think of 50,000 units as a "limited" run.

Pair of Northern California blazes now largest in state history
The US president has criticised Governor Jerry Brown and California's environmental laws on social media in recent days. A day later he posted another tweet about water being "diverted", and he said Gov. "There's absolutely no shortage".

Rockstar and Take-Two have been maddeningly cagey about Red Dead Redemption 2 PC, the continued popularity of GTA Online on Steam makes prospects for the port good, though it's still as yet unconfirmed. Rockstar has its own dedicated video platform on its website, but the trailer will be up on YouTube within minutes of the scheduled air time, so mobile viewers need not worry. That's changed, with the first gameplay trailer out...well, out right now. We see prompts for Greet, Defuse, Antagonize, Threaten, Dismiss, Beat, Rob, and Choke, among others.

The player controls Arthur Morgan, an outlaw and a member of the Van der Linde gang, from a third-person (and potentially first-person) perspective.

While this gang of outlaws will constantly be on the run, it appears the world of Red Dead Redemption 2 will be much bigger than the previous installment. The developer states at the end of the video that it'll be showing off more gameplay soon. Your gang will set up various camps along the way through the main mission, and these camps serve as a homebase of sorts where you can eat, sleep, play games, and do chores.
