  • Italian actress and director Asia Argento arrives at the ninth annual Women in the World Summit Thursday

Asia Argento came forward as one of the first accusers of movie industry mogul Harvey Weinstein, but now a new report claims that the actress may have committed a sexual assault accuser of her own - an underage actor who she reportedly paid off to keep quiet.

Argento, 42, and Bennett, now 22, co-starred as a teenage mother and her son in the 2004 film "The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things", which Argento directed and co-wrote.

According to New York Times, Bennett claimed Argento assaulted him in a California hotel room in 2013, just two months after his 17th birthday.

The Times also reports that Anthony Bourdain, Argento's late boyfriend who died of suicide in June, "helped Ms. Argento navigate the matter". The report included emails from Argento's lawyer brokering the deal and a photo of the two in bed in a hotel room where the encounter allegedly took place.

The Times insisted that Argento's reps did not respond to requests for comment leading up to the story's publication on Sunday.

Argento then asked to take a number of photos with Bennett, according to the documents cited by The New York Times.

Actors Asia Argento, left, and Rose McGowan, who have both accused Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault, are seen participating in a #MeToo march in Rome on International Women's Day this year. The claim alleges the incident had hindered the actor's mental health, plus his work and income.

The NYT said Argento quietly agreed to pay Bennett $380,000 (€333,065).

Actor and musician Jimmy Bennett claimed that Argento performed oral sex and had intercourse with him in 2013, the New York Times reported.

The newspaper obtained documents sent between lawyers for Argento and the accuser that laid out a payment schedule.

As Fox News noted, she gave an emotional speech at the Cannes Film Festival this year, detailing her alleged rape more than 20 years before.

Asia Argento has yet the comments on the allegations, while Jimmy Bennett has told US media outlets that he doesn't wish to speak publicly about the incident.

Weinstein, who has been accused of sexual misconduct by dozens of women, has been indicted on sex crime charges involving three women. He has denied all the allegations of rape, maintaining that he only had consensual sex.
