  • Room erupts in anger and disbelief after Rep. Louie Gohmert asks FBI agent Peter Strzok about affair

Amid the sound and fury from the insufferable Democrats acting as obstructionists and cheerleaders during disgraced FBI Agent Peter Strzok's congressional testimony Thursday, an extremely important revelation was nearly lost in the noise.

Controversial FBI agent Peter Strzok said on Thursday that he had damaging information on US President Donald Trump during the 2016 US presidential election that may have derailed his campaign.

In one text exchange, Page wrote to Strzok about Trump: "He's not ever going to become president, right?"

Meadows called Page a "very credible witness", and said she had been "falsely accused" of not wanting to cooperate with the committee, a charge that had been levied by his fellow Republicans and President Trump...

"They are strong units defending America, and these indictments prove it once again", Cohen said. Outgoing Congressman Trey Gowdy brought up that text and another in which Strzok said Hillary Clinton should win "100 million to zero". Strzok has denied those allegations, pointing to an inspector general's report focused on the Clinton probe, which found no evidence Strzok's apparent bias affected his decision-making.

Strzok played major roles in investigations into both Hillary Clinton's private email server and potential coordination between Russian Federation and the Trump campaign.

The Benicio Del Toro and Josh Brolin-led sequel picked up another $7.6 million, taking the domestic tally to $35 million. And a good chunk of that has to do with the efforts made to rescue Michelle Pfeiffer's Janet from the Quantum Realm.

At one point, Strzok refused to answer questions, citing a directive by Federal Bureau of Investigation attorneys, leading the chairman to threaten him with contempt of Congress.

It is point that has been largely brushed aside in Trump-friendly media circles, with a text Strzok sent to Page in May 2017 also receiving comparatively little scrutiny. They often interrupted Strzok and one another. Strzok defended himself as an unbiased agent in the conduct of his official duties, even if his texts - including one note in which he told Page that "we'll stop" Trump from becoming president - revealed he had a low opinion of Trump as candidate and president.

Strzok's peculiar reaction to one question caught the eye of viewers and many took to Twitter to confirm that their eyes weren't deceiving them. A former Army officer, he said he thought Americans would reject Trump after his "horrible, disgusting behavior" attacking the parents of a fallen soldier.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller on Friday indicted 12 Russian intelligence officers for engaging in "large-scale cyber operations to interfere with the 2016 US presidential election". The Justice Department, in a letter to both committees over the weekend, said it had "substantially complied" with their requests for documents and information, and was working to fulfill outstanding requests.

Page - whose affair with Strzok has led Trump to dub them the "FBI lovers" - struck a deal with the House Judiciary Committee to testify privately after months of attempts to haul her before Congress, including defying a subpoena to testify publicly this week. "I think not", Goodlatte said.

He also said - a few times - that it was more frustrating for him than it was for lawmakers, suggesting he feels like there is more information that could help him clear his name.
