Per a report from Polygon, the company is now testing out a new "Ultra" subscription tier for its users. It also supports high dynamic range (HDR) and HD audio.

First revealed by the Italian publication Tuttoandroid, Ultra joins the existing Base, Standard and Premium tiers.

Tutto Android has obtained leaked Netflix promotional material that suggests the Netflix Premium tier is changing. And yes, that would suggest that Premium users would be downgraded to using two devices at once rather than four.

A basic account gets you standard definition and just the one screen at a time, while the standard £7.99 package gives you HD and doubles the screens. The new Ultra offering would then have the four simultaneous streams that are now offered in the Premium plan. That seems like a lot of money for no extra screens or other perks, but for the moment this is just a test to see what people make of the new model.

Netflix is yet to announce the new feature officially, so drop your pitchforks for the time being. Not all get the new Ultra option but it is clear that Netflix could introduce the plan for new customers which would pay more money per month for the same set of features that Netflix's Premium plan provides right now. Now this plan has not officially launched yet, but Netflix is currently testing it as an option for some subscribers.

It may sound unusual to be ”testing” a price increase but Netflix often tests new features or changes with its users to evaluate the effects.

She said: "We continuously test new things at Netflix and these tests typically vary in length of time". Pricing and feature details could change - hopefully for the better. "In this case, we are testing slightly different price points and features to better understand how consumers value Netflix", a company spokesperson told Newsweek in a statement on Wednesday.
