  • Donald Trump calls for end to Russian expulsion from G7 grouping

United States President Donald Trump has accused Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of making "false statements" and said that Washington will not endorse a G7 communique, the media reported.

President Trump lashed out at Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the country's trade relationship with the U.S. Sunday accusing Canada of "charging massive Tariffs" to U.S. businesses.

US President Donald Trump made a fresh call Saturday for Russian Federation to be readmitted to the G7 despite meeting widespread opposition to his proposal from fellow leaders in Canada.

Kudlow says Trump won't let a Canadian prime minister push him around on the eve of his summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

At a rare solo news conference before heading to Asia, Trump said he pressed for the G-7 countries to eliminate all tariffs, trade barriers and subsidies in their trading practices.

The outburst against Trudeau, and by association the other G7 members, is only the latest incident in which Trump has clashed with America's closest allies, even as he has had warm words for autocrats like Kim and Russia's Vladimir Putin.

He instructed US representatives not to sign the communique from the summit, raising new questions about Mr. Trump's strained relationship with leaders of historic allies.

"Fair Trade is now to be called Fool Trade if it is not Reciprocal", Trump tweeted Monday morning in Singapore".

The Spanish third seed, who was the champion in Paris in 2016, swept aside the Russian 6-2, 6-1 in just an hour and 10 minutes. He went on to break Nadal two more times in the second set before the match had to be stopped due to rain.

Trump had said that the decision of the Indian government to reduce the tariff from 75 per cent to 50 per cent was not enough and asked that it should be reciprocal, as the United States imposes "zero tax" on the import of motorcycles.

In a mocking tone, Kudlow rattled off the reasons Trudeau offered for his barbed critique of Trump's policies.

"Mr Trump set an antagonistic tone for the summit by announcing, just prior to it, steep tariffs on Canadian and European steel and aluminium", it said.

"The non-factual part of this is - they have enormous tariffs", Kudlow said on CNN's State of the Union.

The two-day G7 summit that began on Friday, was held in La Malbaie, Quebec province. "I don't understand the obsession with trade relations with Canada", he said, given that Canada is the biggest single buyer of American goods and services in the world.

French President Emmanuel Macron had labelled the summit a success before Trump's Twitter posts, saying there was relief within the G7 that an escalation of the trade dispute had been avoided.

Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland: "Canada does not conduct its diplomacy through ad hominem attacks".

She said: "The withdrawal, so to speak, via tweet is of course sobering and a bit depressing".
