  • Report Apple is working on noise-canceling Air Pods and over-ear headphones

Apple Inc is planning to unveil higher-end AirPods, a new HomePod and studio-quality over-ear headphones for as early as next year, Bloomberg reported citing people familiar with the matter.

Beyond 2019, Apple is supposedly thinking of adding biometric sensors like a heart rate monitor to future AirPods.

AirPods will get active noise cancellation. Foxconn is said to be working with Apple to ramp up AirPods production.

So if Apple could combine the HomePod's sound quality with a pair of headphones with the W1 chip built in, we'll be very excited to hear the results. It's hard to get that much expertise in audio engineering in one place, even when you've got Apple's giant pile of money, and Apple may be relying on their name and the fact that you have to use wireless headphones or that bad dongle with your iPhone.

The earbuds will likely be a premium version that will cost more than the existing $159 pair. This particular model is expected to arrive later this year. Apple is also looking to increase the range of the accessories so it can blast music even when it's far away from an iPhone or iPad. A wireless charging case is apparently in the works, too, to go along with the long-rumored and conspicuously absent AirPower charger.

Marijuana Will No Longer Get You Arrested if You Are in Canada
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Wednesday that recreational marijuana will become legal in Canada on October 17 . Canada is now the largest developed country to end a nationwide prohibition on marijuana use.

The over the ear headphones will be a premium offering targeting the likes of Bose and Sennheiser.

Meanwhile, those over-ear headphones expected out "as early as next year" were reportedly planned for a 2018 debut before hitting some sort of a development snag.

Instead of being branded Beats the new headphones will feature Apple branding and be a higher-end alternative to the company's Beats line.

With the AirPods, Apple has created a bold new kind of wireless headphone, removing the annoyances of struggling to pair and remembering to turn them off to avoid battery drain.

Apple did not immediately reply to a request for comment. Naturally, they will be using Apple's branding and because of the company facing numerous challenges, these audio accessories are not going to be released this year.
