"We would foil every conspiracy against our leader Nawaz Sharif and continue to wage legal, constitutional and democratic struggle till we wipe out all the stains of falsehood", said a strong-worded statement issued after the PML-N meeting. Sharif's criticism of the military has caused divisions within his party, analysts say, with some members unhappy about his confrontational approach.

"It is unfortunate that our politicians and media are towing the line of India without verifying facts", the prime minister said in response to a point of order by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's Shah Mehmood Qureshi here at the National Assembly.

Abbasi said he also held a meeting with Sharif after the NSC meeting and asserted that Sharif did not say what was reported in the media about the Mumbai attack.

Militants from Pakistan sneaked into India to attack Mumbai in 2008 and massacred 166 Indians and foreigners, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said in an interview published on Saturday. "Should we allow them to cross the border and kill 150 people in Mumbai?"

Justice Aamer Farooq sought reply from the director general of the FIA, chairmen Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) with respect to the filed petition.

A statement of the PML-N said the party "Quaid" Nawaz Sharif chaired the meeting in the backdrop of NAB press release in which the anti-corruption watchdog said it took notice of a column that appeared in an Urdu daily on February 1, 2018, suggesting that Sharif, his aides laundered $ 4.9 billion to India.

A WB spokesman said: "We would also like to refer to a statement by the State Bank of Pakistan which rejects estimates of $4.9 billion in remittances from Pakistan to India on Sept 21, 2016".

After Prime minister's address, opposition walked out from the session as a protest.

Former premier Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday rejected the condemnation of his controversial remarks on the 2008 Mumbai attacks by Pakistan's top civil-military body, saying the leadership should instead look at the impact of terrorism on the country. Under these circumstances, no one knows for sure what is in store for politics of the country in coming days.

He expressed full support for Sharif and said the entire party, including party president Shehbaz Sharif, stands with him.

After Nawaz's counsel Khawaja Haris and Abbasi completed their arguments on the request, the court reserved its verdict on the plea.
