Kelly calls 'BS' on report he called Trump an idiot

  • Ronny Jackson won't return to job as Trump's physician

Kelly has referred to Trump as an "idiot" multiple times, four officials who say they've witnessed the remarks told NBC.

In his statement, Kelly said that their President have a strong and trusting relationship. When the story first broke, Kelly spoke highly of Porter in a statement.

When he was nominated Trump's chief of staff last July, John Kelly was hailed by commentators as the man who was going to rein Trump in, imposing a bit of military order and decorum in a chaotic White House.

NBC said that Kelly has eroded morale in the West Wing in recent months with comments to aides that include insulting the president's intelligence and casting himself as the saviour of the country.

"The Fake News is going insane making up false stories and using only unnamed sources (who don't exist)", Trump said.

But there's an even bigger issue at play here, too: Kelly also allegedly believes it's himself and himself alone who is saving the country - and saving the President from himself. In early March, Trump was said to be "red-hot about Kelly trying to control him", diving headlong into a trade war with China as a "fuck-you to Kelly". Trump bristled when Kelly pushed Kirstjen Nielsen as secretary of homeland security when Trump favored Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, according to NBC.

"That's complete BS. I was in the room for that meeting", the official told CNN. The president shouted at Kelly after the chief of staff went on Fox News and said Trump has "evolved" on building a border wall, The Washington Post has reported.

In one meeting, Kelly reportedly said, "He doesn't even understand what DACA is". He added: "We are accomplishing the unthinkable and setting positive records while doing so!"

A former official confirmed Kelly's insult to the Associated Press and said it occurred "as his clashes with Trump over policy and personnel grew louder and more frequent".

According to the officials, it was Kelly who helped to orchestrate the end of the bipartisan talks revolving around the immigration deal and DACA along with other Republicans. Fake news is going "bonkers!" Kelly denied the comments were ever uttered and called them "BS."

"He has evolved in the way he's looked at things", Kelly said.

"Every day I am embarrassed that America chose you to be our president".

Kelly also came under scrutiny in February when it was revealed that the general knew White House staff secretary Rob Porter was accused of domestic abuse.
