Lawmakers and parents of school shooting victims to Express anger about the upcoming video game that allows players to either stop, or to arrange a school shooting. The game's publisher, a Russian own company called 'Acid, ' says they're reconsidering allowing gamers to play the role of the shooter after receiving so much criticism. Valve also stated that "we are not going to do business with people who act like this towards our customers".

Andrew Pollack has been outspoken since the death of his daughter, Meadow, in the Parkland, Florida mass murder at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on February 14 of this year.

"Keeping our kids safe is a real issue affecting our communities and is in no way a "game", he said in a statement. "Be the good guy or the bad guy". Many people are calling on Steam and its parent company Valve to cancel the release of the game, pointing to its insensitivity in the wake of the Parkland and Santa Fe shootings.

A game developer attempted to profit off a game simulating school shootings, but the immediate backlash appears to have curtailed those efforts.

"Unfortunately, there are so many violent gun games on the market".

The controversial game is now listed on the Steam storefront with a release date of June 6.

A description of the game comes with the following disclaimer: "Please do not take any of this seriously". "This is only meant to be a simulation and nothing else". He said that "sick people" were behind the game's creation and release and that these kind of games would desensitize young people to the tragedy that befell his daughter.

Efforts to reach the developer and the company hosting the game were not immediately successful. The publisher said it planned to remove the ability to play as the shooter before launch in response to the "high amount of critics and hate".
