Seahawks 86'd Kaepernick Workout Over Kneeling Stipulation

  • San Francisco 49ers’ Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid kneel during the national anthem before an NFL football game against the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte N.C. Sunday Sept. 18 2016

Even the Seattle Seahawks reportedly postponed colinkaepernick's no trip to a pre-determined camp together with the team after the embattled quarterback told that the team he would not stop his national anthem kneeling protests.

Seattle is still considering bringing in Kaepernick for a workout.

Thursday's revelation is particularly notable given that Kaepernick is now suing the NFL, alleging that team owners and NFL executives colluded to keep him out of the league.

Former 49ers safety Eric Reid also recently revealed that he was asked by the Bengals to stop kneeling during the anthem. There has been a perception in sports media that teams are hesitant to sign Kaepernick because of possible controversy over his political views, which comes up frequently whenever a supposedly inferior quarterback gets a job in the NFL.

"But it's a situation here where Colin Kaepernick was going to come in there and work out there and now he's not".

The topic of signing Kaepernick was brought up again earlier this month (of note: it was of last year's meeting, and prior to Schefter's report) during an interview between Seahawks general manager John Schneider and Dave Ross on 97.3 KIRO FM.

Khloe Kardashian's boyfriend 'caught cheating'
Kardashian is nine months pregnant, and the couple first announced they were expecting a baby in December. She also posted a series of explicit text messages said to be from Tristan, before deleting her posts.

The Seattle Times reported that the decision wasn't exclusively related to Kaepernick's stance on kneeling, but that the team wanted a firmer plan about his activism and how it might impact football.

The Seahawks are working to establish a backup quarterback for Russell Wilson.

At the upcoming league meetings in May, Mortensen said the anthem issue is "back on the front burner".

He started all 16 games for the 49ers in 2013, finishing the year with a 12-4 record a year after he helped lead them to Super Bowl XLVII where they ultimately lost to the Baltimore Ravens, 34-31. A source told ESPN the trip was put off after the Seahawks argued about Kaepernick's anthem protest.

Kaepernick, who hasn't played since January 1, 2017, also has 2,300 career rushing yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground. Carroll supported Michael Bennett's decision to sit during the anthem last season.
