Facebook is adding a "sleep" mode to its Messenger Kids service to let parents limit when their kids can use it.

Sleep mode was created by the request of kids' parents to provide them a way to make the app "go to sleep" for a certain period of time so that the kids can't use it. The parents have all the controls of the app using the Settings app on their own Facebook account.

When the Messenger Kids app is in Sleep Mode, kids will be unable to send or receive messages or video calls. When they attempt to access the app, they'll come across a message asking them to come back later, and letting them know it's in sleep mode presently.

The main idea of Messenger Kids is the parental control of the time kids are spending on Facebook Messenger. Still, some parents found disturbing videos were making it into the app and were viewable because they were not caught by the human curators. Go to the Facebook app and tap on to the Child's app from the profile section.

Parents have told us that they like how Messenger Kids allows them to fully control the contact list and check in on their child's messaging as they're learning to navigate the digital world. This ensures that they don't have to constantly monitor or change app controls, giving them the peace of mind for their children.

Since its launch in December 2017, Messenger Kids is facing widespread criticism for encouraging children to join social media. You can set different times for weekdays versus weekends. Kids won't be unable to use the app during these times.

The app is fully dedicated to the Children under the age 13. Messenger Kids application is absolutely for free and you can download the app for both, iOS and Android platform for free. "In addition to all the work our teams are doing behind the scenes to make the experience the best it can be, we're also offering parents even more options to make the right choice for their family and for each child within their family".
