  • Caroline Sunshine is joining the White House press team

Reason? Former Disney Channel star actress Caroline Sunshine will be joining the team as a press assistant soon. Sunshine recently attended Claremont McKenna College, interning for the Trump Administration during her time there, so her transition to a full-time position shouldn't come as a surprise. According to a spokeswoman, Ms Sunshine has worked for the office of Kevin McCarthy, the House majority leader, and was once an intern... Though she is best known for her acting career, it's not her first job in politics.

However, there's no blatant showbiz favouritism here, as Sunshine originally applied to the internship through the White House's website. Others had some fun with her last name, "Stormy Daniels, Caroline Sunshine". Caroline also sang a cover of "All I Want For Christmas Is You" on the Disney Channel Christmas album, Holidays Unwrapped, which came out in the fall of 2013.

While attending Claremont McKenna College in California, the former child star was super active in extracurricular social justice programs and completed multiple political internships, including one at the White House.

The Trump administration has seen a number of high-level employees with television experience. Her relatively low-profile hiring came after President Donald Trump hired CNBC host Larry Kudlow to lead the White House National Economic Council, as well as the hiring of Fox News analyst John Bolton as the next national security adviser.
