Military parade will be held on the instruction of President Donald Trump who had directed Pentagon to hold a large-scale military parade to contributions of veterans throughout the history of the United States military, starting from the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812 to today.

The Pentagon memo did not include a cost estimate for the parade.

The memo said military aircraft will also fly overhead at the end of the parade.

The parade should "include wheeled vehicles only, no tanks", the letter said, as "consideration must be given to minimize damage to local infrastructure".

President Donald Trump is a step closer to getting his fervently wished for military parade, which is expected to cost taxpayers between $10 and $30 million.

According to Politico, which was first to report on the memo, the event will also highlight the growing role that women play in the USA military.

The memo said the parade will focus on the contributions of USA veterans from the Revolutionary War up to the current wars, emphasizing "the price of freedom".

The memo, obtained by CNN, detailed the plans for the parade.

Last September, Trump shared how impressed he was by the Bastille Day celebrations in Paris, where he visited French President Emmanuel Macron and concluded "to a large extent, because of what I witnessed, we may do something like that on July 4th in Washington, down Pennsylvania Avenue".

In the memo, the Joint Staff are tasked to plan the parade, while U.S. Northern Command is instructed to execute it.

In practice, that means "period uniforms", re-enactments and even the use of an "old guard fife and drum", the memo says.

The event will integrate with D.C.'s annual Veterans Day Parade and run from the White House to the Capitol, where the president will observe from a viewing area surrounded by veterans and Medal of Honor recipients, according to the memo.

The parade is being planned for Veterans Day on November 11, although heavy tanks are prohibited from the procession since they might destroy the streets of Washington, D.C. "It was two hours on the button, and it was military might, and I think a tremendous thing for France and for the spirit of France", Trump said in September.
